Alaska

Wild and Magnificent: Nature is in charge

Although there are many ways to experience the wonders of Alaska, one of most dramatic (and comfortable) is to take a cruise-tour that combines the beauty of coastal Alaska with a rail trip through breathtaking scenic wilderness into Denali National Park. Holland America Lines MS Oosterdam is our ship of choice. Not only is the ship elegant and comfortable, the international staff is the best. A favorite activity on board ship is a demonstration at the Culinary Arts Center. An experience not to be missed on land is Misty Fjords by Floatplane. The power and magnitude of nature, resonates in you as you fly past magnificent waterfalls and sheer cliffs to finally land on the waters of a small Alpine lake. What an adventure! Then whisk-off to the McKinley Explorer for a scenic rail journey and a stay in Denali National Park.

Mediterranean Cruise

Tantalizing Cultural Diversity, surrounded by sparkling blue

Rome -- Of all Italy’s historic cities, Rome exerts the most compelling fascination. There’s arguably more to do and see here than in any other city in the world, with the relics of a continuous two thousand-plus years of population packed into its sprawling urban area; and as a contemporary European capital, it has an atmosphere that is unique.

Sorrento. With steep cliffs overlooking the blue water of the Bay of Naples, Sorrento is a picturesque Italian town with lots of emotional and cultural appeal. Terraced houses and hotels huddle over the small fishing harbor, providing visitors a superb view of the sea and sunset. Sorrento offers sumptuous local cuisine, and ample quaint sightseeing destinations.

Santorini. When you reach the island of Santorini, you feel the power of the volcano running through this islands veins. It has an atmosphere you will not find elsewhere. Reminiscent of Odysseus's long journey, coming to Santorini is like visiting the past while offering the most luxurious of the present. Santorini is renowned as the most beautiful island of the Aegean and one of the most gorgeous spots on the planet. It offers to the traveler: beautiful landscape, cultural atmosphere, fascinating history, and idiosyncrasies in its everyday existence.

Heavenly Beach in Kudasi Turkey

Kusadasi Turkey. A foaming sea, good beaches and over 300 days of sunshine a year.... no wonder Kusadasi has grown into one of Turkey's major sea-resorts. The ancient ruins of the fortress and its gates are a reminder of the impact the Ottomans had on the city at the beginning of the 15th century. These days, you'll still see old houses in narrow streets altered with more fashionable streets, such as the 'Barlar Sokak', the place to go to when you're looking for restaurants and entertainment when the sun sets over the palm-lined boulevard of this harbor town.

Athens. Cradle of Western civilization. In Greece are the beginnings of Western politics, academics, and art, and particularly natural science, astronomy, philosophy, architecture, sculpture, mathematics, medicine, law, literature, and the writing of history. In addition to breadcrumbs of the past, travelers play amongst the bright sun, white beaches and blue waters of the eastern Mediterranean Sea.

Caribbean

Dazzling. Warm. Fascinating.

Miami, the city of the future, at night.

Glowing incandescently in the sun's brilliant rays, the islands of the Caribbean are an arc of perfect jewels beckoning with natural beauty, endless pursuits, thrilling days and glittering nights. The waters of the Caribbean are shades of blue that no artist could replicate. Gorgeous beaches, tropical rainforests, exotic wildlife and mighty volcanoes.

Miami. This cosmopolitan city boasts beautiful beaches, right next to one of the USA's most vibrant urban centers. Often called the 'City of the Future', Miami contains dramatic skyscrapers, modern hotels and an international financial district. Greater Miami is famed for conch fritters, black beans and rice, cowbells and castanets, salsa and compas, jig and rumba. It offers a unique blend of 21st century and Old World architecture, sports facilities and sunbathing opportunities, big-city culture

Cozumel is world famous for its snorkeling and diving. This teardrop-shaped coral island, ringed by crystalline waters, is Mexico’s only Caribbean island. It has been a favored destination of divers since 1962, when a Jacques Cousteau TV documentary underscored its glorious reefs. Today, over 100 world-class dive sites exist within 3 miles/5 kilometers of Cozumel, and many of them are shallow enough for snorkeling.

Grand Cayman, the largest and most populated of the Cayman's, is surrounded by water rich in colorful marine life and spectacular coral reefs. There is a 6 kilometer (4 mile) stone wall at Bodden Town, known as Grand Cayman's 'Wall of China', built to protect residents from pirate attacks. Along the harbor front are traditional Caymanian gingerbread-style buildings and, close by, modern banks and finance houses. Rich nightlife and great dining choice abound on Grand Cayman.

Snorkeling is just one of many activites available to cruises

Cayman Brac, inhabited by fewer than 1500 people, gets its name from the huge cliff which rises 42 metres (140 feet) from the sea on the eastern side of the island. The Brac is about 19 kilometers (12 miles) long, and not much more than a mile wide. The rocky cliffs provide excellent opportunities for exploring an area riddled with caves, some of which have barely been explored. The dozens of wrecks scattered around the Brac attract many divers. The island also has a rare bird sanctuary and provided the basis for Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel Treasure Island.

Ochos Rios. Jamaica is a tropical island of lush green vegetation, waterfalls and dazzling white beaches. Columbus was in the habit of declaring that each new island he chanced upon was more beautiful than the last, but he seems to have maintained a lifelong enthusiasm for the beauty of Jamaica, despite having been marooned there for a year on his last voyage. One of the larger islands of the Caribbean, Jamaica offers excellent tourist facilities and superb beaches and scenery.
